Star Wars IS Forever by Melanarus Star Wars IS Forever by Melanarus
This is a large 36 x 18 inch oil painting featurung 54 Star Wars characters from both Trilogies set up with the light sabers framing the different trilogies. Jack and I painted this in less than a month which was lots of late nights. Used as an official Star Wars Celebration Japan limited edition print of just 250 copies for the show in the summer 2008 and only for sale in Japan where we were invited as Lucasfilm artists to appear in the artist's alley.

Later, George Lucas bought the original painting (ahem, brag... cough!) What an honor and a high that is hard to come down from. Now in the Lucasfilm art collection in California although not sure if it's at Skywalker Ranch or the Lucasfilm Campus. Jack and I would love to visit and see it hanging there someday.

I think George also changed the title of the painting too. I named it Star Wars forever! And when I got an email back the title was now "Star Wars IS forever.

This is amazing! I love all your Star Wars paintings, but I was too lazy to add each and every one of them to my favorites, so I just added this one. :)

Beautiful, beautiful job! And congratulations on it being bought by George Lucas!!!

This is one of the best pictures I have ever seen. I love how you placed Anakin's and Darth Vader's light sabers together. A perfect symbol to the past and future bonded together by destiny. Well at least that's how I saw it. I could be barking up the wrong tree here. Either way I really liked it. Keep up the good work. :yoda:
